Bringing Resiliency to Trauma Sensitive Schools will help participants take the theory learned from other trauma sensitive schools trainings to gain insights and techniques to move students toward resiliency. The focus will be on resilience while exploring the why and how trauma impacts both students and staff; how to establish safety, build student strengths and a management system that supports PBIS.
- Participants will gain ideas, techniques, and practices that can be implemented with students and staff using resources from Starr Training, Circle of Courage Classrooms, DPI, and the Compassion Resilience Toolkit.
- Student and classroom scenarios will be discussed.
- Many different types of learning opportunities will take place during the workshop, including a quick review of Trauma Sensitive Schools, video resources, and activities for all ages of students.
- School teams will have time to develop a plan on why, what, and how resources can be used in their school to increase student and staff resiliency resulting in a decrease in office discipline referrals and an increase in student achievement.
