Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
We recognize the urgency of this work. We know there will always be more to learn; therefore to fulfill our mission of building the capacity of educators to positively impact the equitable outcomes and well-being of every student, we are committed to…
-
Our own ongoing learning about racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, and other systems that privilege some and marginalize others in the education system.
-
We are each learning about how our own personal biases and privileges impact the educators we serve. Even though I don’t feel like a racist, I have benefited from racism (2021, Collado, Hollie, et al).
-
Giving one another grace as we engage in conversations, knowing that cultural conditioning influences our perceptions and actions (2021, Collado, Hollie, et al).
-
Providing services that nurture the dignity of all races, sexual and gender identities, and those of us with different abilities.
-
With humility, we will hold space for the questions and conversations that promote accountability for diversity, equity, and inclusivity.
-
We encourage schools and districts to engage student voices in order to develop trust in action.
